The Parish & Family Life Ministries of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church is excited to announce the formation of the new SVdP Wedding Guild. In the last two years, our parish has experienced a dramatic increase in the number of weddings celebrated at our parish. We are truly blessed that this resurgence in Catholic weddings is occurring, but in order to accommodate and provide these couples with a joyful and memorable ceremony, we need the assistance and support of women from our parish.
The purpose of the new SVdP Wedding Guild is to assist brides and grooms with a well-run and smooth celebration that will contribute not only to the joy of their wedding day but will also be an evangelization event for those in attendance. Members of the SVdP Wedding Guild will assist the clergy and Family Life Ministries staff by assisting with all of the details of the celebration of the wedding ceremony. SVdP clergy and staff will provide all the training that you will need.
Members of the SVdP Wedding Guild will be our parish wedding coordinators and will assist by setting up and leading rehearsals on Friday nights (usually about one - two hours) and assisting before, during and after the ceremony on Saturdays (about three hours). They will be the primary liaison between the couple and the parish, and will help ensure that the wedding celebration runs well so that it will be a joyful (and stress-less) day for everyone involved. Our weddings range in attendance from less than 20 people in attendance to over 500 people. Depending on the size of the wedding, either one or two SVdP Wedding Guild members will be needed for each wedding.
We are looking for friendly, enthusiastic and passionate women to become members of our Wedding Guild. Please consider helping and supporting our SVdP parish and the many engaged couples in this most important ministry role. The SVdP Wedding Guild satisfies a serious need of our community for Catholic weddings to continue at our parish. You have the opportunity to be a great blessing for the parish and the couples who are married here at SVdP.
